algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey,

When creating a VIPER model, I understand that windows are supposed to be planar to the walls with no openings in the wall.

Perhaps it is Energy+ knowledge, but does the coplanar window essentially make a hole in the wall?  That is if a wall is R-15 and window R-3, the area with the window will only have a R-3 and not R-15 or R-18 correct?

Thanks,

Reinhardt

This is correct! EnergyPlus will subtract the opening area (child surface) from the wall (parent surface).

Thank you for the clarification!

Bests,

R.
