Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

All the rage these days is video djing, live 'editing' or coding to music, to provide a cool graphic for dancing etc. My question is, is this ever done with GH?

Right off the bat, I can imagine that running something huge, while also rendering it live, may be to computational heavy. Is there any animation program that I can join with rhino?

Say I modeled this image: And then had all the perimeters adjustable (size of tentacles, shape of body,) could I animate this to a dance beat? Like some sort of tentacle coral blowing in an underwater breeze???

Firefly components have some Audio listeners. But the fluidity of the movement would depend heavily on the redraw speed of your system. Sometimes, grasshopper definitions finish calculating and then Rhino takes a long time to display the geometry. Rhino will draw points, lines and meshes faster than surfaces or breps.

I guess most people use this program three.js. Any experience with that?

this is very cool and definitely the direction I want to go in: https://fractalfantasy.net/

What I want to do, ideally, is parlay my experience with GH into the next program, so i don't have to start from scratch. Any advice? Is there a workflow I can setup so I can use my GH experience to make sick things in other ways?

Like how is that even done?? Its so cool, I could model that as a static piece in gh....
