Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody,

I've simply tried to copy from a well known tutorial site THIS DEFINITION, but it doesn't work and I cannot understand why.

I've tried to check step by step and to rebuilt all from the very beginning but it ends up in the same way.

Here you can see my def:

and here what happens:

the louvres don't follow the attraction point and the first two of them are completely out of control.

Ideas?

Thank you

Hi.

Change your shiftList component's wrap values input set to false.

Thank you indeed Hyungsoo, your assistance is always super-helpful!!

Here again...

At first I thought it would be fine even without the components that set the repulsion's strength and the coverage area that you've deleted.. but I need these controls, because without them the louvre's final shape change considerably.

Is there a way to make this definition work even with those components?

Thanks!

Of course you can.

Thanks again!!

Hi everybody,

I'm still working with this definition, but I've got a problem with lofts..

The ribbons must wrap the entire building's perimeter, to do so I thought that the best way was lofting the boundary curves and obtain an unique surface to use as the input BRep on GH.

In certain cases this worked really well, for example here:

in some other cases no:

as you can see, the ribbons aren't straight from bottom to top, but they curve, following (I guess) the input geometry:

this loft for example has certainly something wrong, for example those undulations should not be there and the vertical lines have got the same curvature which then inherit the GH ribbons.

Here you can see the original curves and their control points.. I'm sure the error is here:

This is a Rhino issue, an not a GH's one.. but I hope someone has got an answer for me.

ops.. the files!
