Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello All,

I have been augmenting an existing GH script and want to continue to personalize it while relearning GH.

I am attempting to create two tangential arcs and blend them into circles (see attached .jpg).

My issues are the following:

1) I can't seem to isolate the points that are needed to make the new geometry individual elements (the highlighted lines in the .jpg)

2) I need the script to operate successfully and be able to duplicate itself according to the length of the base arc AND the diameter of the base circles (see attached file: leather_hat.gh)

This is beyond me at the moment. I know WHAT I would need to do, on paper, but I don't no precisely know how to ask GH to do the same things. lol

Thanks for the help, I hope I was clear.

I have updated the definition. I was able to get half the circles to cooperate!!!

This works for your example, but if it was to be robust for a universal solution then there would have to be some more detailed data matching/sorting to be done.

EDIT: BTW your shattering of the curves was not correct in your last upload which is why I changed the Grafting/Flattening

Danny,

Thank you for your time! Where/how did I go wrong with the Shatter function? I did notice that it broke it into some odd segments that didn't correspond to the splitting parameters I set!!!!!

I am trying your solution now.
