Unrolling surface with curves

I have a surface with curves projected onto it - they are intended to serve as guides during construction.

I'm trying to unroll the surface with the curves - preserve the geometrical relationships so that they can be laser cut.

I'm using FabTools, which seems to offer this option, but having trouble getting it to work - can anyone offer some guidance?
