Uniform on surface (Acoustical Tile)

Hi guys!

Bit of a random question I'm working on.. how would I create uniformly shaped pyramids on this surface? I'm trying to get the look of acoustical tile...

Any help would be much appreciated! Links & ref below.

Seems like there is no way to make them uniform and whole thing waterproof at the same time. Maybe without waterproof constrain it would be doable...
