Trouble with [Shift Paths] while attempting a loft

I posted yesterday about an issue with lofting after grafting a list of data. I attempted the suggested fix, without any success. :/

I wonder if anybody can make light of what's going on in the attached picture? Notice the loft command is not hidden. I am not able to get the loft to run unless Graft is deselected (in which case, the problem looks like the 2nd picture attached).
