algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Everybody

Im trying to trim a patch surface and apply on it a panel tool.

The problem is: when I connect the trimmed surface to the panel tool the paneling appear on the old patch surface.

I can't find a way to paneling only my new trimmed surface!

Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot!!

Thanks!!!both of you!!!

it works, but this create some problems in the edges triangles, they are cut and so they become a polygons.

if i want only triangles in the shape? maybe i can just delete the edgescutter triangles. How could i do that?

or maybe rebuilt the triangulation on the edges, but i guess it s morde difficult.

Any suggestion?

thanks a lot

It will not fit your taste anyway, but take a look(red group) if you want.

You'll need basic skill to set some conditions and to filter out what you want.

Which one do you prefer?

Thanks Kim!

this is better but those triangles in the edges are too small.

I guess i have to change my definition and start from a loft surface and not from a patch.

thanks a lot

Hey~

Patch is not the real problem. Your patched surface is an "Untrimmed Surface".

The problem is that you cut it with a projected curve and turn it into a "Trimmed Surface".

So, Using other methods like "Loft" won't solve your problem.

Understand.

So how can i turn an untrimmed surface in a surface?

Take a look at the attached.

It will be a reference to see how the results can vary depending on how the surface is created.

It's a typical recurrent question coming from ignorance of "Brep Properties". So, try to  search the forum discussions first.
