I cannot get your file to load in either Rhino 4 or 5. It just crashes everything.

sorry if you load with the 3dm file I put here, it works

I couldn't be bothered to try and work it out without scripting... sorry.

 

The attached script is completely unoptimized. It also removes lines that don't intersect at all.
