Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

translating between old grasshopper tutorials and new build

i am attempting to make a surface that uses attractor points to change the perforations for a shading device. my problem is that all of the tutorials are for the old grasshopper that had scalar tab and less parameters for the grids and stuff. i am a novice user and am completely confused. i cannot find any tutorials for attractors that use the newest version which is what my school has. help.

Can you post a link to the tutorial that you're referring to?

Chris

I can see where this one is a little confusing and will re-do it later today.

Chris

Let me know if you still have questions.

hey thanks for the definition. i've been playing around with it and i'm trying to explode or evaluate the circles so i can work with them individually. i'm am attempting to make a walkway around a roofscape tht also work as a shading device for the space below. i want some to be perforated and some to be solid bumps. the perforated ones then need to loft with the circle below to create a sort of viewing cone. here is what i have so far:

i would also like it to have a curve as the attractor but when i add a curve it adds sets of circles for every point on the curve.

here is an example not using grasshopper. kinda dopey.

also this one, http://designreform.net/2008/07/grasshopper-patterning-with-2-attra... actually. because i want to be able to loft the openings when there are 2 grids. :)

Here's the definition from the cited tutorial using GH 0.8.0050.  I'm not sure where your confusion is.  The components for these definitions are still there in the menus but perhaps have been redistributed to other headings.
