Transform a curve

I Guys,

I am relatively new to this software.

I am playing a bit with the components and making some exercises. At the moment I am trying to take a line and transform it  into a sort of indentation pattern(image) in such way that allows me to control the distances between indentations. Can you help out figuring out how to do it? It should be easy, I am just not seeing it.
