Sweep2 function in VB.net

I have been writing a family of custom GH components in VB.net that require the Sweep2 function that exists in Rhino and Grasshopper. The problem is that to my knowledge, the function cannot be accessed in Rhinocommon. The success of my components really depends heavily on being able to perform the Sweep2 function without having to add any other Grasshopper components. Any ideas on how I can get access to the Sweep2 function? I assume that there must be a way to do it in GH since there is already a component that does it quite well? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
