SURFACE MANIPULATION

hello,

I have a certain surface I intend to manipulate. my goal is to make a triangulated skylight roof that it's vertices are changed according to the exposure of the sun.

the exposure part I did but I'm having a grate difficulty on manipulating the surface so it's vertices will move (manually, without the exposure) and the surface will change accordingly.
