Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Im having some trouble and I was hoping maybe you had the time to check it out. My objective is to try to divide a mesh into 2 meshes depending on the area that it has, and creating a 8m gap between the 2 meshes (along the division line) but WITHOUT letting it get outside the parameter of the original mesh. Could you please help me out? I'm a beginner and I'm having a lot of trouble with this. Thanks so much! :)

Here are the attachments of the 3dm + gh files I've got so far

"...outside the parameter of the original mesh."

I don't fully understand what 'parameter' refers to.

From what I understand, you measure the area of a mesh. If the area is larger than X, then you split the mesh (split it how? horizontally through the middle?). You want to move the upper part of the split mesh upwards by 8 meters.

I attached a file which does what I understand you need (apart from the 'parameter' thing). It's about as simple as I can think of making it. Maybe it will help?
