Split failure

Hi there, this time I am having trouble with my commands to create openings with a spliting. I have two curves, one as boundary circle and the others are curves. I follow the tutorial to split lines but in my situation it is not working. Does anybody knows why would this happen? Million thanks for that! Cheers
