algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Spiral ramps around surface

 

I am trying to emulate the spirals seen here wrapping the surfaces of MVRDV's "China Hills" project.  I was wondering if anyone had a solution via Rhino or Grasshopper.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

I dont think there are spirals in there, just cuts of the shape by some planes.
