algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Dear forum,
I am currently designing a piece of urban furniture (bench) and I would like to test if it tipps over when external forces are applied to it. (i.e. a person leans onto it). Specifically:
DATA
1. The bench is made of 3mm mild steel, plus fixing components
2. The unit acts as one solid body, fully rigid with no elasticity.
3. Attached files include a birds-eye view and a bottom view showing the intersection of the base and the ground
REQUIREMENTS
1. What is the best add-on for me to use, please? I was thinking Kangaroo; would this be the right choice?
2. How do I assign self-weight to the object and a centre of gravity? I have calculated the weight by panel and fixing component, as well the overall weight.
3. How do I assign the ground; i.e. a mass that the bench cannot penetrate?
4. How do I introduce multiple external forces (i.e. an 80kg human leaning onto it) that would cause a push to the bench leading to rotation?
5. May I kindly ask if someone can help me with coding it, please?
Many thanks in advance,
Fanos
