Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone,

I've been doing some exploration but I can't seem to find my answer online. I am trying as much as possible to reduce the file sizes of my geometries and in the process I noticed that Rhino5 handles solids in two primary ways as polysurfaces and extrusions.

It seems that if I generate a file in Grasshopper and do the standard Extrude - Cap I get a file that on average is 10 times bigger than if I bake the curves and extrude them with "Solid=Yes" in Rhino.

As such I was wondering if I am being dense and GH already has the capability of generating simple extrusions?

This seems like it would be a massive performance improvement across the board if it was an option?

Best,

Sash
