Simple BrickWall Definition

Ok this may sound silly but I'm not able to build a definition that will create a brick pattern with joints onto a given Srf.

Actually I haveis no problems creating the brick pattern using a cull component that moves one row every two. But How to get the joint?

I can easily create a srf that has the desired brick dimensions an copy it a number of times. But my idea is to be able to divide any surface into a brick pattern

Any ideas?
