Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

I'm trying to use the Shortest Walk component to draw pedestrian paths along an existing road network and then find a path on a grid I have drawn in an open space.

It works fine on the existing road network lines but it wont continue the path onto the grid, instead it finds the closest point on the area boundary.

The grid is composed of lines in Rhino (doing it in grasshopper crashes my computer) so I'm not sure why it's not working as they are all just a collection of curves. Can I solve this without Geometry Gym?

And, as you have prob guessed, I'm really new to Grasshopper :)

Would really appreciate any help.

Carly

Is you grid crossing lines or individual segments that start and stop at each node?

Hi Danny,

They are currently crossing lines. Do you think that is the problem? How can I change that?

Would need some optimization though, because there are many crossing lines.

Thanks for your responses. I actually managed to get my Geometry Gym license quicker than expected and the Intersect Curves component solved the problem.

Thanks again,

Carly

Hi,
is there anyone out there using ShortestWalk with Rhino 5.0 (no Beta) and Grasshopper 0.9.0014?
It seems that it doesn´t work, because I cannot load the component.

Thanks for your help,

Thomas
