Shortest polyline through points

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a polyline through points based on the shortest distance? In the case of the picture attached, it should make a rectangle instead of creating diagonals.

Of course, in this example it's easy to create a rectangle but I have a lot of polylines listed, so I want to figure out a way based on shortest distance..
