Separating data from a tree using data from another tree as an identifier

Hi, 

any help appreciated... 

perhaps this isn't the best way to go about this issue but...

In the definition attached is it possible to add components to make a collection of rays (lines) that do not intersect with any object?. 

i.e. separate the ones that cause a return value of FALSE from the mesh ray component

Secondary questions:

Why does the evaluate surface component return a normal facing inwards?

Why does the polar array component not fill the total angle specified?
