algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

Im trying to scale a set of curves using a specific percentage but i cant figure it out!

I tested with these numbers

0.5 would be 25%

0.75 = 56.25%

0.8 = 64%

0.85 = 72.25% etc...

But i need an easier way where i can just type in 60% 40% 45% etc...

Any advise would be higly appreciated.

Thanx

Anyone can help me with this please??

I need to apply this methododlgy to a large urban project in order to define set backs and masses

It sounds like your percentages are squares of the factors right?

So to go from percentages to factors, you have to divide by 100, then squareroot the result.

I. e. The expression you need is

Sqrt(P/100)

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply, though im not sure if i got you right! excuse my inteligence..

If we assume that the closed curve "Property Boundary" is 100%.. i want to create a building foot print that covers 60% of the property boundary..therfore I want to scale my original closed curve by 40%...This will give me 60% built up area and 40% open space...does that make any sence?? and is there a way to do that??

Thanks again for your help

The way I understand it, you want to scale a closed curve with a percentage, where the percentage indicates the amount of area inside the curve right?
