scale shift + surface morph

Hi guys,

I have two questions regarding a pattern I have.

1) The scale of the diamonds are a bit too large for the surface but the scale will not shift beyond a certain radius of the hexagon. Any idea why?

2) I'd like to morph the pattern onto a specific surface but don't know how.

I'd appreciate it if I could get some help on how to do it. Thanks.
