Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I am trying to achieve the following, a building which optimizes the use of solar energy. One surface of the façades is filled with pv-cells.

To get the most sunlight on this surface, the building rotates with the sun during the day. I used the gEco component to achieve this. So far this is working. The building rotates when the time/sunposition changes.

The "sun"facade is divided into diamond panels with the lunchbox component.

To get the biggest yield from the solar energy, I want these panels to rotate perpendicular to the suns position. This is not working (yet). I tried with planes and other things but the panels do not rotate in the right direction. I made a sketch how I want it to work. The highest point of one diamond panel is the rotation point.

I think one of the problems is that the building rotates also so the axis are changing too.I hope I made it clear what I want to do, and someone is able to help me!

Thanks in advance!

Maria
