rose bracelet. Hoop deformation.

Hi im designing a bracelet 

essentially its  a series of hoops which make up a chain with a pendant in the centre

i want two of the hoops to deform so that they make up the shape of the pendant, and i want the pendant to copy the patterns of a rose... So i want the pendant to be series of thin layered elements which wind around each other. Ive tried many different ways to get this working but i cant think of how. 

If somebody can point me in the direction of a good approach that would be fantastic!

If this question is confusing essentially all im asking is how do i deform part of one geometry to create a layered winding shape?
