Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I have  two questions I'll roll into one post. The first is referencing hatch geometry into Grasshopper. It seems doable with either Human/Horster, but I have been unsuccessful so far.

Second, is there a way, with multiple files worksessioned into the main file, to isolate which worksessioned file is being referenced? (I want to grab a specific layer from file 1 but not that same layer in file 2). It seems like appending the file name before the layer name might be the right approach, but no luck so far.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to get started, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the reply Tom. Unfortunately, I'm not looking to make hatches (though I'll keep this trick in mind). I'm bringing in exported hatches from Revit (Room Areas), and do not want to modify anything in Rhino - I can simply save out new exports and have the definition update accordingly.

Let me know if you have any other thoughts...

thanks for that. using that c# component, i was actually able to get it to work. From your component, I used Human's Hatch Explode, which provides boundary curves (and surfaces if applicable). I should be able to do what I need to from here.

Thanks again!

Hi Alex,

I have the same issue here. Could you please share your .gh or a screenshot? Thanks,

Eugenio

The same problem I solved just bu exploding hatches (set hatches to solid) in rhino. It gives surfaces then link it to grasshoper.
