Referenced Patch Surface Problem

I am trying to reference a patch (surface) representing landform into GH, but when I try to manipulate it using the Isotrim component, I am getting the patch as the untrimmed surface.
When I defined the patch in Rhino-space, I chose the 'automatic trim' option in the patch dialogue box. I also attempted to create the same surface without 'automatic trim,' but rather by trimming afterwards and got the same results.

Any thoughts on how to avoid this untrimming issue would be greatly helpful. (Image attached.)
