Reading/Importing Files

If I'm making a script that can import files, should I use the ReadFile method or the Read3DM method? It seems like for now I'm only able to use Read3DM, but maybe I'm just missing an SDK update?

And for the FileReadOptions and FileWriteOptions classes, what does the Dispose method do? Should I use it after reading or writing files?
