Ranchi Cricket Stadium, India_Balmond Studio

Hi everyone!

I've been struggling A LOT trying yo recreate this surface in grasshopper. 

It is a project by Balmond Studio for a cricket stadium.

It could seem simple at first sight, but I've found it impossible to recreate the twist of the edge while keeping the 'holes' on the fabric surface. I hope I can help my poor explanation with the images of the project that I'm attaching. 

I started thinking about the morbius strip, but it was impossible for me to recreate it with 4 loops, and also with a hole in the middle.

Any thoughts on how could I get it?

I hope you guys could lend me a hand on this. This exercise is very challenging!
