question about exposure+galapagos

We are students and using grasshopper, galapagos the first time. We ran into a few issues and it would be awesome if someone would help. The example: We are shading a building façade according to sun intensity (summer/winter) The problem: how to define the desirable sun for a specific point or surface. How to translate existing exposure vectors to ideal exposure vectors using galapagos? Which components can we use?
