Pyritohedrons weaverbird picture-frame

Hey All, 

Still haven't quite got this to work and wondering if anyone can shed any light on it.

I'm creating Pyritohedrons:

I have managed to create clusters of these and create surfaces:

And I am now trying to weaverbird picture-frame them however because they are 5 sided surfaces they can not create meshes therefore picture-frame only works on the first and last (four sided) iterations. Can anyone think of a way around this?
