algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there!

I can't project line on surface made from revolved curve! It is working fine when I use rhino made surface, but it doesn't work with parametric model. What is it about?!

Hi Bojan,

can you post the geometry I need to replicate this?

Hi David,

here is geometry.

Looking forward for your answer.

Hi Bojan, I don't think that's the proper way to use the revolve. I would use only half of the profile curve and revolve that 360 degrees (2*pi). Than the projection works fine.

Hi Pieter,

I have noticed that projection works fine with surfaces made with half profile curves. I am wondering, it should be the same result if full profile curve is revolved for 180 degrees? (like in Rhino). I just want to understand logic why it can't be done.

Ehm, I always use a single profile curve when revolving, I mean one that is not crossing (touching is allowed) the revolve axis.
I don't think it is good practice to use the whole curve Bojan, but I can't explain very well why this is.
