Problem applying a pattern onto curved surface

Hello everyone

I am having a little problem applying a weaving pattern onto an irregular curvy surface. It works fine on a flat surface though. I know it is because i used the initial surface as the plane to mirror the geometry. Can anyone please tell me how to solve this? [Also you could you tell me if I have done it right? :P]
