Possibility and difficulty of using grasshopper for the layout of a room

Hi everybody!

I'm pretty new to grasshopper, I actually just started using it a week ago. Right now I am getting lessons in grasshopper/rhino once a week. And I was asked to think up a project or subject that I would like to explore using grasshopper. A project that i find interesting and that could also teach me about grasshopper. What I find interesting about grasshopper is the possibility to explore different options and compare them to find the best solution. So i came up with the idea of using grasshopper to explore different configurations for the furniture in my room and thus look for a better and different layout. I was wondering wether this is a feasible plan and how difficult this is in relation to the amount of time i have. I'm getting help and lessons for about 8 weeks and i think i can spend about 12 hours a week on it. 

I also saw something about Galapagos for evolutionary design, would this be a way to see and rate different configurations? So my main question is wether somebody with some more experience in using grasshopper could tell me wether this is feasible? Any other advice is always welcome!
