Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

The following def contains a representaion of 5 beams with a deck slab in camber, causing the beams to move vertically initially positive z then the negative z.

Intially the top flange extreme point connects to the bottom flange of the adjacent, as the beams direction changes the bottom connects to the top making the sequencing more awkward 5 beams is probably the most awkward arrangement.

I'm tying to create a polyline from a list of points, acquired using a domain and subset arrangement

I''ve struggled to sequence the points and my polyline is a problem.

The bottom two points are critical to generate a line between adjacent beam units.

I'm looking to:

  • generate the polyline as shown in sketch 1
  • split path the vertices to capture the critical points to connect the adjacent beam units with lines
  • join the lines ending with surface representing the deck slab
  • sketch 2 hopefully provides the intent

all help appreciated
