like a bed sheet forming to what ever its on...ANYONE

Please can you help me?

Hi Terry,

You have to make an example...theoretically it's possible, but it depends on the point cloud. It should have equal point amount in x direction (rows) and equal amounts for every column (y direction).

Then it's not a big deal. Everything else it's a bit more complicated and needs cleaning algorithms.  Can you place a file with your cloud or at least an image showing it?

need to make a modle

Hi Terry,

i see. This is a question that a lot of people asked in here. Its a 3d laser scan right? Hm this is quite impossible. Too many points and a total disorder. You should use the software of the 3d Scanner to clean the results as much as possible.

Is it a NextEngine or similar? They have great tools to create a clean mesh.

the other question is if you create a new model using the cleaned mesh vertices as a reference for drawing in rhino. Then you can decide about the detailing of that model and it is likely to become a nice result for the physical model. It's a bit of work but is definitely less than cleaning this model manually.

Or you just print it with a z-corp ;-) (if mesh is closed and manifold)

I'm sorry and i hope this helps,

FF
