Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone,

I want to create planar facets on a surface. I have used a definition with kangaroo which planarizes the projected poly-lines  generated from lunch box.

After running the simulation the facets become planar but they are not aligned as you can see on the following picture.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem or have any other recommendations?

This isn't a GH problem, this is a geometry problem. Not every curved surface can be subdivided into planar quad faces. You'll either have to create a new design surface (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developable_surface), consider using triangles to subdivide the surface (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Museum#mediaviewer/File:Britis...), or some kind of shingling where the edge of the panels don't meet, but the structure makes up the difference.
