Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I have built up a parametric truss following this tutorial

http://designreform.net/2009/07/rhino-grasshopper-parametric-truss/

I have even successfully added thickness to it too.  (see attached pic)

Now my question is, how do I make this thickness "vary" gradually, so that some parts will be thicker than the others.

Thanks, desperately in need of help!!!!
Hey Mandy,

There's probably a few ways you could do it, but depends on the end result you're after.

How about this method?

You could take each point from the triangle planes of your truss (before you already gave it a thickness) and move each point independently it in the Z axis. Then build a copy of your truss using those points, now giving you 2 layers, which can be any distance apart at any of those points.

Then just find a way to build a wall between the 2 layers, which shouldn't be too difficult as they should be the same in plan.

Does that help?

David.
