Parametric Fractal Reduction

Hi everyone, I'm new to grasshopper and I'm just wondering if you guys could help me formulate a definition for a project I'm working on.

My real issue is how to create definition in which it reduces randomized number of cells and at the same time creating interior spaces and courtyards within a building.

This is NL architect's TPAC taipei performing arts center and my project aims to convey a similar imagery.. So I hope you guys can help me solve this out.
