algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys,

I'm trying to create a facade like toyo ito's mikimoto building (attached below)but with varying hexagons sizes. i've used multiple attractors points algorithm done by David Rutten. However, i can't seem to map those curves into a surface. Tried using "maptosurface" tool but doesn't really achieved what i wanted. Am i miss out something?

And if there are better ways to control the sizes of hexagons, pls feel free to comment below.

Cheers,

You are taken the wrong "base surface"....But any way the result are not what you  are especting as in your example...

( advice...why dont you just use the points of you 3D surface instead of thansfering the hex from a 2d plane to a 3d surface )

I got this same problem when i was doing image sampler, the patterns become too thin. Is it due to the srf being too short to put everything in?

For the part of using the points of the 3D surface, i got it to the point where u placed the hex on the srf but how do i orient them to be flat on it?

And thx for the tip. really appreciate it !!
