Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have 15 random planar points (1 polycurve) and a planar surface. (please find

i want to overlay these points and the curve onto the surface such that;

1) They fit within the surface boundary

2) The points does not loose its relationship with subsequent points

2) The point approximates its location where required such that they are evenly spread across the surface, still approximately maintaining the curves form, i.e the length of overplayed curves could change but the form of the overplayed curve is not drastically different to and new the curve.

Attached is the concept sketch

Is there a way to do it?

Thanks a lot for your help

Kind Regards

Here's an idea. It isn't fully baked, but it works a little. With a little more development, I'm sure it would be a viable solution.

Hey Damon,

Thank you very much for your solution.

I also tried Kangaroo pull force. That does the job of constraining the points on to the surface but it completely distorts the original form of the curve. And the distortion varies with

1)the location of the curve in relation to the surface.

2)Pull strength.

Have any idea on reducing the distortion? :-)

thank you
