ORIENT Rhino Object to Grasshopper surface

Hi.

I have a surface I have modeled in Rhino and I want this to get populated at the intersection of a grasshopper diagrid.  When I use orient direction I get the objects to populate the diagrid, but their orientation are not normal the surface from which the diagrid is generated. (See pic).  Is there some really easy thing I am missing?  I basically want to be able to perform rhino operation  "orient 3pt" without having to do it manually.
