Orient objects along curves with multiple normals

hi everyone,

i've recently started a project, and am currently stuck whereby i have to orient a certain object along a curve, following this i then sweep the curve along the rail.

i can't seem to be able to orient the object perpendicular to the curves and was wonder what I need to add to the equation in order to do so
