Open-Closed components following an image

'Evening my fellow mates,

I was going trough various tutorials, and I've bumped in this one, wich I find very interesting, but I was thinking of a variation: in this case my components are open or closed based on a certain angle [of a sun light, in this case]. Pretty easy concept but very effective.

I was wondering if I could use the same criteria, of open-closed components along a non planar surface, based on a certain image, like the one I've linked. Actually I was wondering of both the ideas to keep the open component a simple hole or to have it with a glass panel, like a window.

 What do you think?
