Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm new to Grasshopper and Rhino. I am trying to run a natural ventilation analysis and I have found that my zone "L10_E_PERI_1" changes from a 'closed brep' to an 'open brep' when I pass it through a 'HB_Glazing based on ratio' module.

Could someone explain the implications of using open breps in a thermal simulation? Do I need to ensure all my breps are closed? If so, can anyone pinpoint where I've gone wrong?

I've added some txt reading '<Problem Here' by the area I'm working on. I need to add glazing to most of the other zones as well so this is the first of many.

Thanks,

Michelle

Update on this. I found that some of my surface normals on the zones were wrong and also that some of my walls that had 'glazing based on ratio' applied were too small. If I set the ratio to less the 0.5 it was fine but if it was greater than this it had the open brep issue.

Hope this helps someone else out there :)
