algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I remember seeing a tut that showed how to take a surface (a bowl like surf for the tut I think) and generate a series of xz planes intersecting with yz planes that get trimmed to the surf. These planes were then given thickness and intersected and booleaned to get half slots that let them fit together in what I consider an 'eggcrate' manner. I think it was Pascal who posted the tut and I've inquired on the Rhino forum but hope I have better luck finding it here. Thanks!
