Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I am wondering, is it possible for grasshopper to achieve something similar to SketchUp —the people( or other kind of objects) can always facing to the direction of camera?

The most difficult part of it, I guess, must be getting the view plane ( constantly update).

I have no idea how to achieve it, I cannot find any button to get the view plane in Grasshopper and I cannot find anything in Python either…

There is a rhino command is 'Set CPlane to view', but I have no idea how to let it constantly 'Set CPlane to view' and how to extract the plane...

But I think it is achievable because the ‘text tag’ button is doing something similar to that.

Appreciate for any suggestion.

Cheers,

Jack

Not only does it have to re-orient the objects whenever the view changes, it has to assign each object a different orientation in each viewport. Rhino does not support this on a per object basis.

It is possible to draw something in each viewport which faces the camera, but this can never become Rhino geometry, its just magic pixels in the viewports.

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. If we try the magic pixels way, how can we achieve it?

How can we let it refresh drawing something facing the viewport?

Thanks,

Jack
