Need help with Millipede!

Hi, I'm totally new to millipede and grasshopper and desperately looking for some help!

I'm struggling to find how he made these patterns with millipede plugin. I guess he started of with simple shapes but I don't get how he progressed from mechanism to such outputs. Any ideas?
