Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Need help with controlling the amount of vertices/faces on a mesh using Grasshopper?

Quick note: I apologies if I'm flooding up the discussion page.

Basically, I have 4 different geometries and want them to fluctuate in porosity on a surface according to movement of sun. So the most porous ones would be further away from the sun and the one closed up would be closest to the sun.

Right now, I'm trying to merge two tutorials from tedngai.net to make this happen. Problem is that once  there's too many mesh faces and so my patterns are turning out really small. Another problem is that once I bake and render, the patterns become flat.

I've tried to rebuildmesh, meshtonurb (in hopes of rebuilding it and making it into a mesh), and mesh on rhino but they don't work.

Here's the rhino and grasshopper file I've been working for.

Much help would be really appreciated!!!
